The Mackie CR3 and CR4 are both powered studio monitor speakers, but they have some key differences.
The main difference is size: the CR3 is a 3-inch speaker, while the CR4 is a 4-inch speaker. This means the CR4 will have a slightly larger and more powerful woofer, which can handle more bass and overall volume.
Another difference is the frequency response. The CR3 has a frequency response of 80Hz to 20kHz while the CR4 has a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz. So the CR4 will have a deeper bass response than the CR3.
Additionally, the CR4 has a balanced TRS input, unbalanced RCA input, and unbalanced stereo 1/8-inch input, whereas the CR3 has unbalanced RCA and unbalanced stereo 1/8-inch inputs only.
Lastly, the CR4 has a larger sweet spot and larger dispersion pattern than the CR3, this is can be good for larger room or for listening from different spot in the room.
In general, The CR4 is slightly larger, more powerful, and more versatile than the CR3.
