This was of particular interest to me as the original Uniti has three loudspeaker options, one of which is ‘Small + Sub’. This introduces a 100Hz high pass filter in the amp, preventing low frequencies being passed to the main loudspeakers.

The Kingswood Warren Limited Edition from Falcon Acoustics  named after the famous but now defunct BBC R&D facility south of London where the LS3/5a was developed  recreates the ‘no compromise’ LS3/5a prototype, designed in 1974, two years before commercial production began.

 Cabinets, crossovers and drive units are all meticulously realized to recreate the LS3/5a as it was originally conceived. Component parts are scarce so just 50 pairs will be made at a cost of, wait for it, £6495 per pair.
